Crime Prevention Unit
Tampa International Airport Police Department (TIAPD) actively participates in community events and activities to educate the public on a variety of safety, security and law enforcement topics.
The Crime Prevention and K9 unit works hand and hand to conduct presentations throughout the Airport Community and the Tampa Bay area to share law enforcement and travel safety messages to children, families, seniors and anyone interested in a unique perspective on law enforcement.
Presentations include speaking engagements at schools, civic organizations, retail malls, and other businesses within the community, which cover a variety of topics such as Travel Safety, Human Trafficking, Stranger Danger, See Something Say Something, and other important subjects to help keep members of our community safe.
The Crime Prevention Unit provides tours of the police department and participates in events throughout the community including: Coffee With a Cop, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, National Night Out Against Crime, The Great American Teach In, and Safety Day Events.

We at Tampa International Airport are proud of our police department, but crime prevention and detection doesn’t end with our officers. It is important for all of us at the airport to become familiar with our surroundings and learn to recognize suspicious activity. Keeping our community safe is everyone’s business.

In addition to our mobile application, TIAPD provides an anonymous, toll-free tip line and an email tip link to encourage members of the airport community to report significant information which will be helpful to our police department and Tampa International Airport.
