An Internship Opportunity at the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority
Providing students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to work within various departments at the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.
The Runway to Success Internship Program provides college, university, or trade school students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to work within various departments at the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority to gain real-world, on-the-job training:
- Exposure to a professional workplace: Learn about the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority and how it functions
- Acquire and apply professional, real-world skills that are transferable to future careers
- Access to networking, mentorship, and collaboration with seasoned professionals
Runway to Success is a 12-week, paid opportunity (up to 40 hours per week, depending on position) during the Summer of 2027.
How the Program Works
Students and recent graduates apply for specific departmental internship opportunities at the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority. The department supervisor will guide participants through daily tasks and/or a departmental project, teach them how to succeed in their job assignments, and provide opportunities to evaluate participants’ progress over a 12-week period.
Participants will take part in a series of events, tours, and classes, such as:
- Executive Meet & Greet
- Main Terminal, Airfield, Construction, and General Aviation tours
- Effective Communications, Emotional Intelligence, Resumé Building, and Interviewing classes
