Tampa Airport Sees Strong Revenue Growth During First Half of Fiscal Year

(May 8, 2014) - Tampa International Airport is seeing strong revenue growth during the first half of the fiscal year with total revenues exceeding the $99 million mark, an increase of 2.8 percent over the first half of the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, expenses are down more than $1.6 million, or 3.2 percent for the fiscal year to date with lower than originally projected costs in contracted services, contracted maintenance and utilities.

Mass Casualty Exercise Prepares Community for Airport Emergency

(April 25, 2014) - On April 17, Tampa International Airport conducted its triennial Emergency Response Exercise. This is an important event for the airport, required by the FAA, to ensure that the airport is prepared in the event of a large scale disaster. The airport conducts this exercise to simulate a mass casualty event that would challenge the resources of local emergency responders, hospitals, law enforcement, and community services like the American Red Cross.

(April 11, 2014) - The General Aviation department recently completed a comprehensive renaming and signage project for all of the hangars and facilities at the Aviation Authority’s GA airports: Tampa Executive Airport, Peter O. Knight Airport and Plant City Airport.

In all, 448 new addresses were created at the three general aviation airports.
