Cayman Airways to launch daily nonstop flights through summer at Tampa International Airport

June 1, 2016

Tampa International Airport is pleased to offer daily nonstop service to the Cayman Islands on Cayman Airways beginning July 1. The service will run through August 31.

Cayman Airways currently offers flights five days a week between TPA and Owen Roberts International Airport in George Town, Grand Cayman. The service is popular for both Tampa Bay area residents who like to vacation in the islands, and Cayman Islands residents looking for a seamless experience when visiting Florida.

“This flight will give Tampa residents the opportunity to experience the beauty of Cayman with more convenience, while giving the residents of Cayman better access to Tampa Bay's cultural events, shopping, entertainment and attractions,” Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano said. “We provide a fast and easy international process with global entry for US citizens, as well as automated passport control kiosks that expedite the customs process. This makes Tampa a preferred airport for both residents and our guests coming from Cayman.”

Tampa International expects to double the number of international passengers served in FY2016 when compared to FY2010.

Cayman Airways is one of TPA’s most longstanding international nonstop flights, offering service at TPA since 1986. The airline serves approximately 45,000 passengers annually, with July and August being its busiest months.

The daily summer flights will arrive at 1:25 p.m. and depart at 2:25 daily.
